realized that the fundamental problems that led to the energy crisis of the late 1970's had never really been resolved..... So I began to research methods and materials that would make homes energy efficient and comfortable. By the mid-1980's I developed the Ecobuilt Home Design.
Comfort is best described through feelings of discomfort.... cold feet from cold floors, hot and sticky, chills from drafts, etc. You are probably experiencing some form of discomfort in your home if it's not energy efficient.
In an energy efficient home you don't turn down the thermostat in the winter or turn off the air conditioning in the summer. You don't need to conserve energy by sacrificing comfort.
In addition to feeling comfortable year round, the value of an energy efficient home is consistently higher than comparable homes in a surrounding community, not energy efficient. Mortgage companies recognize the added value an appraiser can assign to an energy efficient home.
I have lived with my family in energy efficient homes since 1986. We know no other way.
My present home in Pennsylvania is 4163 square feet with 18 foot cathedral ceilings. I set my heat at 70 degrees in the winter and my air conditioning at 74 degrees in the summer....... On January 2, 2008 we topped off our 500 gallon propane tank and it is April 10, 2008. There are 50 gallons of propane still in the tank. How many fuel deliveries did you get this past winter?
